You would be working with a paediatric caseload with predominant diagnoses/strengths and challenges related to Autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma, sensory processing differences, and Cerebral Palsy.

We are seeking an innovative and dedicated Occupational Therapist with a passion for working with children.
Duties & Responsibilities:
☆ Assess infants and children with a range of presentations, using a variety of diagnostic tools including standardised assessments.
☆ Identify each child’s strengths and challenges within the context of the family, and provide goal-oriented, targeted intervention to support their individual needs.
☆ Manage a paediatric caseload [birth – 18-years] and ensure all documentation including client record keeping and report writing is accurate, concise and completed in a timely manner in accordance with professional health practitioner standards.
☆ Provide routine Occupational Therapy clinical practice (clinic-based, visit, and Telehealth services) in line with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia Code of Conduct and in accordance with contemporary evidence-based practice principles.
☆ Actively participate in collaborative partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders to improve developmental outcomes for clients.

Qualifications and Experience:
Compliance
☆ Hold a recognised degree in Occupational Therapy.
☆ AHPRA registration.
☆ Current Working With Children Check.
☆ Registration with OT Australia.
☆ A current driver's licence and use of own vehicle.
☆ Personal Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
☆ Early-career therapist with a minimum 1 year experience in the field.
Non-Clinical
☆ Have existing knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme and Medicare. Better Access to Mental Health endorsement desired, but not essential.
☆ Commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice.
☆ Demonstrated ability to independently problem-solve and set priorities in complex situations.
☆ Effective time management and ability to prioritise clinical and non-clinical tasks.
☆ Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
☆ Proficiency using IT systems.
Clinical
☆ Experience and understanding of goal-oriented, family-centred and evidence-informed practices.
☆ Understanding of neurodiversity and neurodivergence, or a willingness to learn!
☆ Understanding of sensory processing, how sensory processing differences may impact on daily functioning, and sensory-based interventions.
☆ Experience delivering developmental therapeutic approaches such as DIR Floortime.
☆ Evidence of ability to work in a team and build and maintain cooperative professional and therapeutic relationships.
