Meet our team!

We are a small, passionate team of three dedicated Occupational Therapists. Our OTs each have a diverse range of skills and experiences, but both share the common goal of empowering young people and their families to live lives that are meaningful to them. Kahli

Kahli is the Principal Occupational Therapist and Director of Stretchy Minds. She strives to create a warm, welcoming, and safe space for children and families of all abilities and neurotypes. Kahli LOVES learning and is always in pursuit of gaining new knowledge and increasing her skills in order to provide holistic therapy that places the person at the centre.

Special interests:

  • Neurodivergence

  • Autism, including atypical presentations, internalised presentations, and Pathological Demand Avoidance

  • Anxiety

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

  • Social emotional difficulties and/or regulation and behavioural challenges

  • Complex/chronic and acute trauma

  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

  • Neurological conditions

  • Developmental Coordination Disorder

  • Picky eaters

  • Sensory processing differences

  • Kahli is also an Endorsed Better Access To Mental Health Clinician.

When she is not busy in the clinic or being mum to her very own tiny human and furry Groodle, you can find Kahli in the yoga studio, reading up on neuroplasticity, or bingeing Harry Potter!

Lucy

Introception - the sense that helps us understand and feel what is happening within our bodies - is deep interest for our amazing OT Lucy, especially in understanding how it effects self-regulation.

Special Interests:

  • Neurodivergence

  • Autism

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactive Hyperactive Disoreders

  • Social anxiety

  • Intellectual disabilities,

  • Sensory processing differences

  • Social-emotional difficulties and/or regulation and behavioural challenges .

  • She is also a certified Irlen® Screener.

Lucy loves to bake, and is a fellow yogi lover, when she has free time she can also often be seen outdoors, hiking and exploring with her partner.

Leo

With a diverse range of experience from Melbourne to Hong Kong, Leo has worked in paediatric private practice, community healthcare, and both mental and physical rehabilitation, before joining the Stretchy Minds team. He is committed to building strong relationships with each child and their family, and creating joyful, meaningful experiences that support a child’s growth. Leo is always looking to learn and grow in his practise, and makes it a priority to stay informed on the latest research and techniques to provides the highest quality therapy to the children and families he works with.

Special Interests:

  • Neurodivergence.

  • Autism.

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

  • Intellectual Disabilities and sensory processing.

  • Social-emotional difficulties. 

  • Incorporation of the principles of regulation, child-led, and play-based therapy into sessions.

Leo loves the great outdoors, and can often be found playing soccer with friends, hiking, or recharging at the beach or the park

Edith

Hiding behind the scenes, Edith is one of our wonderful receptionist/admin assistants. If you ever need to contact us, this might be one of the people you talk to! At Stretchy Minds on Mondays and Fridays, Edith spends the rest of their week working in Science Communication sharing their passion for science with high-school students.

Special interests:

  • Zoology and Genetics.

  • Neurodiversity.

  • Cats.

  • Learning Auslan.

Outside of work, Edith is usually found curled up with tea and a good book, or finding new adventures with their partner and friends. If you ever see them at reception feel free to say hi!

Emma

Emma also hides behind the scenes as one of our wonderful receptionists/admin assistants. Previously a high-school English teacher, she has lots of experience working with young people of all abilities and neurotypes, and will welcome everyone with a warm smile as they walk through the door! You will find Emma at Stretchy Minds on Wednesdays.

Special interests: 

  • Teen wellbeing and personal development

  • Travel and seeing the world

  • Linguistics and language use/development

  • Houseplants 

Emma is also a yoga teacher, and when not at Stretchy Minds or on a yoga mat she is either at home writing with her cat by her side and surrounded by her plants, baking a cake or exploring the world.
